Black & White Love Story
Mildred and Richard Loving were arrested by the sheriff of Caroline County, Virginia, for... being married to each other. Richard was a white bricklayer and Mildred was of Native American and African-American descent. And in that time their love was illegal. Judge told them to leave their state for 25 years. These are pictures of the couple taken by Grey Villet in 1965 and showed by the International Center of Photography.
